Now in its ninth year, Plein Air West Reading has earned wide recognition as one of the region’s largest, most important fine art events. From June 8-15, 2024, thirty top artists from 9 states will cover Berks County, seeking to capture its beauty, character and heritage on canvas.
As part of the week-long event, there will be a community “Quick Draw” on June 10. We’re inviting artists young and old, amateur and professional, to create the best painting or drawing of beautiful museum park in exactly two hours!

As part of the week-long event, there will be a community “Quick Draw” on June 10. We’re inviting artists young and old, amateur and professional, to create the best painting or drawing of beautiful museum park in exactly two hours!
- 8:00-10:00am: Register at the Terrace Tent. There will a $10 entry fee for adults, no fee for students (including college) and the juried Plein Air West Reading artists. All artists must bring their own art supplies.
- 10:00am-noon: Do a painting or drawing of anything in Reading Public Museum Park
- Noon-12:30: Bring your art to the Terrace Tent across from the museum entrance
- 1:00 Awards Presentation: Museum CEO Geoff Fleming will present $500 in awards to
- winners in Student and Adult categories
- The exhibit will remain up until 3:00pm. Artwork may be offered for sale at the artists’ discretion.
