Martha is frequently commissioned to create studio art quilts around a specific person, place or theme. A few examples: Beatles, Baseball and American History and Max and Friends are a diptych that Martha did for a family. She composed the pieces using keepsakes, books and heirloom objects provided by the family. Quilts were mounted on linen-covered boards. Both pieces were 18” x 33”. Price for similar commission: $1.75 per square inch. A Boys World was commissioned for the birth of a baby boy, to hang in his room. 11” x 15”. Price for similar commission: $1.25 a square inch. Pittsburgh Scene: Custom-made cover to transform a wall-mounted flat screen into art when the TV is not in use. 45.5” x 30". Price for similar commission: $1.00 a square inch. |
