Marie Stalnecker
Fused Glass & Watercolor Artist
Color, reflectiveness, transparency, shape, texture–here’s a lot to like about fused glass. And in Marie’s talented hands, there’s even more to love.
“Glass is such an exciting medium to work with!” says Marie. “Fused glass in particular. The versatility, the looks that can be achieved, the deep and unique beauty that backlighting can give it, there’s nothing like it.”
Marie extends her artistic vision and superb craftsmanship for fused glass across a vast range of forms: Wall hangings, bowls, plates, platters, clocks, pocket vases, Christmas ornaments, self-standing curved glass and jewelry.
Her devotion to her art runs deep. She has her own kilns. She makes her own molds, and sometimes makes her glass from scratch. She runs workshops at the GoggleWorks and offers private tutoring to share the techniques and secrets of her craft. She also takes commissions for custom pieces.
“If you can imagine it, I can probably make it in fused glass,” she says.
Marie recently extended her creative flair into watercolors, where her mastery of color and texture shine though soft abstracts evocative of moody, dreamy landscapes.
