The Art Plus Gallery Fine Art Scholarship

Each Spring, one Berks County senior who has been accepted into a college-level visual fine arts curriculum will be awarded a scholarship of $500, to be applied to tuition, textbooks or other requisite course materials.
At the time of application, student applicants must be enrolled at the senior class level in a Berks County public, private, charter or home school, and display proven artistic ability in one or more of the following mediums: drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, mixed media, fine craft or fine art photography.

Your application must include:
- Proof of at least a 3.0 GPA during the year applying
- Proof of college acceptance as a visual arts major at a fully-accredited college or university, for Fall of the year applying
- A completed application, including a 250-500 word essay, postmarked or delivered to Art Plus Gallery by March 31 of the year applying.
- Two letters of recommendation, at least one of which should be from an art teacher
- A flash drive or email attachment of at least 10 images of your work
Also note that:
- Incomplete applications will not be considered
- Applicants may be asked to interview with the Scholarship Awards Committee
- Family members and relatives of Art Plus Gallery’s members are not eligible
- The scholarship award of $500 will be applied to college tuition, textbooks or other requisite course materials

Congratulations to Krystal Arroyo from Oley Valley HS for being the 1st recipient of the Art Plus Gallery Fine Art Scholarship!
There were several outstanding entries for our first annual fine art scholarship, but one stood out above the rest. Krystal Arroyo, has been accepted into Kutztown University for the Fall 2019 semester receiving a “Golden Ticket” for immediate acceptance into a most competitive program. She plans on majoring in Fine art, communication design. In her essay, Krystal says that she was always drawing and sculpting from a young age, and by 5th grade she was sure she wanted to be an artist. Her passion for fine art manifests itself in her sensitive imagery, much of it figurative and her skilled handling of a variety of media. Her goal is to make people feel something extraordinarily exquisite, and make others happy through her art. She received excellent letters of recommendation from both of her art teachers at Oley HS mentioning her superior ability to express herself in ways that enrich the lives of many people including children she mentors through the school’s SMART program a division of Big Brothers Big Sisters. For these and other reasons, we are pleased and happy to present this scholarship award in the amount of $500 to Krystal Arroyo. It is our hope that this award will provide you with some needed money to help with tuition or school supplies and give you a boost of confidence in your artistic vision and goals.
