Artist Statement
“The goal that I’m working towards in my artwork is to create an image that captures emotion and narrative. Vacant structures, places of business or worship, backyards, and front porches each display their own narrative and emotion in subtle ways. The extraordinary variety of places of worship in PA reflects early religious freedom in the state. One of my visual challenges is capturing a piece of the spirituality and unique energy of the PA landscape. PA offers an inspiring scene that is often forested, industrial, and historical.
"Watercolor’s transparency and reflection of light from the surface most often connects with my visual goal. Light, infrastructure, contrast, color temperature, nature, and various times of day inspire my artwork constantly. I am incredibly lucky and thankful for the unique opportunity to be an artist in this time and place. People who support and admire the local creative arts are sincerely appreciated.”
