Mixed Media Artist
Abraham Darlington is a lifetime fitness advocate who, in 2018, was sidelined by a shoulder injury. That was when he first turned his boundless energy toward art. He hasn’t looked back since.
By profession, Abe is an instructor of Astronomy and Astrophysics. Much of his art seems to reflect a far-looking vision in a decidedly gritty, aggressive, urban style that he calls “Punkmetal”. It’s infused with elements of non-objective art, minimalism, street art, freestyle abstracts, cubism, futurism and collage. He uses mainly acrylics, but incorporate a wide variety of media (spray paint, graphite, alcohol inks…) , techniques (splash, scrape, scratch…) and influences (Pollock, Mondrian, Basquiat…). Wherever the inspiration at hand takes him, his enthusiasm for creation and experimentation shines through in strong colors and expressive energy.
All of Abe’s available work can be seen at www.punkmetalabstract.com. He designs commissioned works as well.
