The show will go on(line)! The state will not permit Nolde Forest to hold any indoor activities through May, including our traditional exhibit at Nolde Forest Mansion. So the virtual exhibit will open on this website on May 20, and there will be a Facebook Live awards presentation on Saturday, May 22, starting at 1:00pm!
TEACHER GUIDELINES: Since the show will be exhibited online only, we’re able to extend the deadline for submissions to April 30. Details will be emailed before 4/4 to all of the teachers who registered their schools.
INDEPENDENT ENTRIES: Whether or not their school has registered in the contest, students may submit a jpg for consideration in the Independent Entries category.
Crop in tight on the entire piece of art, including the frame or mat, to accurately show detail and color. Size your images at 1200 pixels on the longest side. If you’re using an iPhone, this will translate to a file size around 300k. If the student wrote an Artist Statement, please photograph that in the same manner.
The subject line must say simply “Nolde Entry Grade __”. (Fill in the student’s grade level.) The cover message must include:
Only one art media entry per student, although a second submission may be made by the same artist in the Photography category, which is open to all grades. From each 100 independent entries received, at least three finalists will be selected by a panel of judges from Art Plus Gallery. Finalists will be notified by 4/20/21, and a submission form emailed to each finalist. If there is also to be a physical exhibit and awards presentation, it will announced at this time.
